Oooooooooo-klahoma!

I only have energy for the basics tonight, so here it goes...

We are here!

In an answer to many prayers, both boys traveled beautifully.  On the second day of our trip, both slept all the way from Fort Smith to Oklahoma City.  Driving that quiet car was like a 2 1/2 hour vacation!

Our new home has exceeded my expectations.  Oh wait...did I tell y'all that we just moved into a rental home that neither of us had ever seen before?  It's true.  We like to live on the edge like that.  

A big part of why this little house feels more like a home is thanks to my precious in-laws and their friends.  In the week before our arrival, they painted the entire interior of the house, shampooed the carpets, deep cleaned every nook and cranny, mowed the yard, and stocked the fridge.  They completely outdid themselves, and this new mother is so very grateful; they took care of all the little things that would have bugged me but that I would not have had the time to take care of with two little ones underfoot.  

The love and service has not stopped there!  Since our arrival, we have been showered with visits from friends bearing homemade goodies, flowers, homegrown vegetables, and lots of love and attention for our boys.  People have stepped in to meet our needs and even some of our wants: a free freezer for the garage, a toddler bed, a bookcase, help with a broken dryer.  My in-laws have helped so much with the boys, making Riggins feel special during this crazy time and allowing us to get things done without "help."  They have also allowed us to bring over our piles of laundry when our dryer turned up broken.  

We have already gotten to see many dear friends, which has made this transition so much easier.  It was really difficult to leave our Memphis community, so to be immediately reminded of the loving community we had waiting here was such a blessing.  I am so thankful for friends who know me well enough to know that, yes, I do want visitors even if life is crazy!  (Thanks, Steph, Carrie, and Brittany!)  

And one more thing that has dominated our first days in OKC...the THUNDER!  Our NBA team is in a playoff series against the Spurs, and Jonathan even got to catch last Saturday night's game.  It is so fun to see the entire city--typically divided between OSU and OU--rallied around one great team.  Jonathan and I have never been big followers of the NBA, but having a local team is super fun and we are totally on the band wagon!  

Thanks for all of your prayers during this transition.  Now to muster up the energy to unpack all of these boxes!
