Wouldn't you want this handsome fella gazing into your eyes? It's ok...you can admit it.Yesterday was Southern's white coat ceremony. Picture OBU's convocation chapel but with all the freshmen in white coats, then make that chapel 2 1/2 hours long, and you'll get an idea of what the ceremony was like! Yowza. The school brought in guest speaker/musician Tom Sullivan, an actor/athlete/singer/comedian/author who became blind in infancy. Though it had its cheesy moments, it was pretty exciting to have a man without sight stand before 100+ future optometrists and charge them to preserve sight and obliterate blindness from the face of the earth. That's quite a goal, and it will definitely be a great motivator as he starts out on this journey. I'm pretty proud of him....

Oh! And there was an after party where we actually met some people! (Making friends has been a slow process here). It's definitely funny to be a part of an institution that includes free beer in its college-wide celebrations. Wonder why they never did that at OBU? ;)

Very exciting! Be sure and stock up on Big Red. I think every eye doctor I've ever been to is always chewing Big Red. Oh yes, and they always speak in golf commentator voices. Does he have a good one?
Ha! That's hilarious, Keely. The practice that Jonathan worked at all last year had a huge stash of tictacs, gum, and mints in their break room. You can't get all up in someone's business with bad breath!
Oh, the ole White Coat Ceremony - such exciting times, isn't it!? Congrats to him and best of luck to you as you accompany him on this journey! :)
